Abigail Pillans, is the director and founder of A.P Dance Collaborations, a platform where her passion for performing, creating, coaching, and sharing converges. Her journey with Cecchetti Associates began in 2015 as a pupil, an experience that inspired her to pursue a professional career in dance.
In 2016 Abigail attended Ballet West, where her professional training began. Abigail then moved to the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2018 where she graduated with a First-Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Dance, Setting the stage for a vibrant and multifaceted career. She has toured extensively across Scotland, performing in iconic classical ballets such as Swan Lake and Giselle, as well as originating roles in contemporary productions.
Her performance credits include working with the esteemed Yorke Dance Project, where she performed at the Royal Opera House's Linbury Theatre in productions such as Sea of Troubles by Kenneth MacMillan and the late works of Robert Cohan. Abigail’s choreographic talents have also earned international recognition, including reaching the finals of the Tanzolymp competition and coaching a student whose work earned a scholarship to a summer school in Japan.
Now a proud member of the Cecchetti Associate Committee, Abigail is dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of dancers, bringing her expertise and passion to the forefront of education and mentorship.
Through A.P Dance Collaborations, Abigail merges dance with live music, creating innovative and thought-provoking works. Her latest project, Philip Glass: Reflections, in collaboration with concert pianist Osman Tack, showcases her vision of minimalism in motion.
From her early days as a Cecchetti Associate to her role on the committee, Abigail's journey reflects her unwavering dedication to dance as both an art form and a means of connection, inspiring the next generation to dream big and dance boldly.
